#6: Horoscope: You’ll read an article on astrology today!
By using vague statements, horoscopes can easily apply to anyone. It’s an art, using such wording. Horoscope writers have to perfect the use of obscure comments to keep their readers engaged. If I say you’ll find $20 in your mailbox, you’d easily prove me wrong, but if I say you might find money today, and you see a penny on the ground, suddenly I’m right!
Another tactic is bringing attention to specific actions (much like the title of this blurb). You probably drink coffee every morning without thinking about it, but if your horoscope says, “Your cup of coffee will be phenomenal,” you suddenly pay more attention to the quality of that cup and nod sagely.
